Is Shield Guide really free?

Yes. The Shield Guide Homeowner App is completely free. There are no fees, no subscriptions, and no hidden charges. We do not sell your data.

Is my information private?

Yes. Your data is encrypted and never sold or shared with third parties. Only you control who sees your information. You can connect with a housing counselor by sharing a code — but that is entirely your choice.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

On the Sign In screen, tap "Forgot password?" and enter your email address. You will receive a password reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if you don't see it.

How do I share my information with a housing counselor?

From your home screen, tap "Share with Your Counselor." You will see your unique 8-digit share code. Give this code to your housing counselor and they can connect to your account through Shield Guide PRO.

How do I delete my account?

To permanently delete your account and all associated data, contact us at support@shieldguide.org with the subject line "Delete My Account." We will process your request within 5 business days. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

The app is not working. What should I do?

Is Shield Guide affiliated with HUD or the government?

No. Shield Guide, LLC is an independent private company. We are not affiliated with HUD, the federal government, or any government agency. We help homeowners prepare to work with HUD-certified housing counselors, but we are not a government service.

Does Shield Guide provide legal or financial advice?

No. Shield Guide is an educational tool only. We do not provide legal or financial advice. Please consult a licensed attorney or HUD-certified housing counselor for advice specific to your situation.
